KUKKE SUBRAHMANYA is regarded as one of the seven Mukti places of Karnataka is 105 km east of Mangalore. Kukke Subrahmanya is situated on the banks of river Kumara Dhara, which originates in the Kumara Parvatha and proceeds towards western sea. The water here is believed to have the power to cure all skin disease. Kukke Subrahmanya temple is dedicated to lord Subrahmanya, who had manifested with Vasuki (the king of serpents). The other important shrine to visit here are Kukke Linga, Vedavyasa Samputa Narasimha, Sri Bhairava Devaru, Sri Uma Maheshwara Devaru, Ballalaraya Vigraha, Sringeri Mutt, Hosaligammana Gudi, Adi Subrahmanya, Kashikatte Ganapathi Temple, Biladwara. A fair held here on Champa Shasthi (Skanda Shashti in December) every year attracts thousands of visitors.
